ERIC MURPHY UPDATE OCTOBER 2023
RETURN TO WORD OF LIFE HUNGARY--What a delight to return to WOLH to speak during the Opening Weekend of the Bible Institute! What a treat! God abundantly blessed in the meetings with four of the students dedicating their lives to do whatever God would have them to do in life. Nearly 60 students from more than 15 countries were fired up and ready to start their year of intensive Bible study. It was a joy to serve together with Laci Kadar once again. He has been directing the ministry there since last December. We served together years ago in the youth camps and in other ways. Pray for Laci and Szandra Kadar’s ministry as they forge ahead to meet the needs of a new generation in Hungary. The leadership team has much potential. It will be a joy for me to see how God will use each of them in the future. A time of fellowship was organized by the some of the “old time” staff members … what a blast! Food, conversaions, old stories, hugs … all of it good, good, good. My heart was blessed. Stephanie shared some thoughts and everyone enjoyed hearing her speak. CONNECTING WITH MONTENEGRO STAFF--Danijel and Martina Petkovski along with Jelena Vilotjevic met with us for a time of encouragement. They are doing a terrific job. Join them in prayer as they are looking for a young man or couple to join their team to do evangelism and discipleship with teenage guys in Montenegro. It would be good for this prospective staff member to be gifted in sports in that young men there are sports crazy. NASSAU: MINISTRY WITH WORD OF LIFE--Serving together with Mark Hall, Director of WOL Caribbean Ministries, it was a joy to be the keynote speaker at his Leadership Conference for youth workers. No, this was not at one of the posh hotels or in the tourist area for cruise ships. Instead, it was at Grace Community Church where I spoke to 25 youth leaders from this church and another one in the city that uses Word of Life to reach their young people. It was an awesome experience as God blessed both Mark and I as we served. My final message to encourage the leaders was from Galatians 6:9 … for us not to be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. To God be the glory! Finally, thank you for all that you do to help and support. Your prayers are vital as well as your faithful giving. The trip to Europe was amazing. Nassau too. Thank you for making this possible.
