LEAD OF THE LORD

Sitting in a church service on Sunday I noticed a late arrival and made a mental note that I would greet him after the service. But, the pastor did something very different giving an invitation for salvation and for people dealing with serious problems in their lives. What was different is that he was leading a communion service at the same time. It was a special moment. Sensing God leading me to speak to the man, yet, I hesitated. Stephanie and I were visitors ourselves. Still, God was strongly urging me to go over to him during the invitation. [Why was I hesitating? Oh me. I’m sure you’ve done the same thing.]

He was so appreciative of me reaching out to him, but he did not want to go forward because he said he was there for the first time. I told him that I was visiting also. Blew him away! I told him that God impressed me to talk to him. In a few minutes I found a church member to reach out to him as I hung around to help out. This Navy guy was so, so appreciative. He needed a message of love that somebody cared enough for him to reach out to him. This is what he told me. Praying that God will do a great work in his life.

COSTA RICA YOUTH CAMP

Cris Vidaechea, director at LIFE Costa Rica, did the evangelism because I had an issue that we could not be there for the camp. Though I it was disappointing I now see that God used this opportunity in Cris’ life for good. 13 salvation decisions and all of the campers went forward at the campfire meeting as Cris spoke again. Great to see God use Cris! Way to go!

LIFE ROMANIA IS FULL STEAM AHEAD!

Best way to describe what is happening in Romania right now. They are on fire for God! I recall when Iulian first went back to Romania after his seminary training in the States that a few of his supporters wondered aloud to me, “What will Iulian do when there is no youth camp?” Well, he and his team are so busy now I am concerened that they are getting enough rest. But, I remember those days in Hungary years ago. The ministry there grew and grew just like it is in Romania. Pray for Iulian as he comes to the USA soon to raise funds for the summer camps.

There is an opportunity to add two additional weeks of summer camp in southwestern Romania which is in great need of evangelism. Funds are needed for these two camps which will be in mid-August 2017. At least $11,500 is needed for each week of camp in Romania which will now total 11 weeks counting one week for MIA College in July. Great needs, more than $100,000, but there are great opportunities. Pray asking what God would have you to do to help.

Oh yes, two more groups are needed for camp this summer. June 23 - July 1, 2017 in western Romania and July 14-22 in southern Romania.  “What would I do?” Thanks for asking. Whatever your skills and talents allow you to do. You could teach conversational English, help with sports, prepare and lead some afternoon activities for the campers, you name it. Maybe you are musical. We always need people to come to hang out with the campers. This is very important. They love it! And, you will be blessed beyond measure.

Okay, contact me at the phone number or email listed below. Please take this request seriously. Thanks so much for all that you do for each nation where we serve.

LIFE ROMANIA: OUR EXCITEMENT!
In the last Update I was about to burst with excitement. I waited for LIFE Romania Director, Iulian Avramescu, to announce his plans for next summer. The news is out! Two camps in two locations at the same time! Double the outreach, double the results. At least, pray that this will be the news to tell after next summer’s youth camps at CAMP MIA in Romania.

God willing, Stephanie and I will be at one of those loccations at Targoviste for the four weeks of youth camps and the counselor training prior to the camp season. Can’t wait! Iulian is dividing his impressive staff into two groups to lead one youth camp in Sistarovats in western Romania and one in southern Romania. His vision is to expand his ministry to the extent of having three camps running at the same time. Then, four youth camps. Next, five and so forth. Ambitious plan and I love it!

May God bless Iulian and Roxana Avramescu and their incredible team!

HOW IS MY ANKLE?

Thank you for asking. Still doing the exercises that the physical therapist gave to me. This strengthens the ankle, yet I still have soreness and pain. I have lost 31 pounds which helps, but I have been on a plateau for a few weeks. However, I can tell that I have started to lose some weight in the last few days. This is part of the treatment in order to reduce stress on my ankle. I made a ministry trip to Philadelphia last week and had no problems walking through the airports. So, I’m on the move again. Thankful for your prayers.

END OF THE YEAR GIVING

We are grateful for all who make sacrificial gifts so that we can make an impact on young people. If you would be so kind to make a special donation for 2016 before the end of the year, it would be a big help for us. Make a difference, one teen at a time.

Address: Life Impact For Eternity, 3984 Manatee Avenue East, Bradenton, Florida 34208 or online through Pay Pal at our website: www.lifeimpactforeternity.org

Thank you very much!

WHAT’S ON THE HORIZON?

Youth camp in Costa Rica in January where I will be speaking and doing the evangelism. Pray for this. Going through a personal edit of the book I have been writing during the “down” time rehabbing my ankle. When I finish this I hope to submit the book for a professional edit around December 16. Behind the scenes administrivia, as I call it. Preparing ministry budgets for 2017 is one example. Calendar planning for 2017 is another priority. A trip to Romania for counselor training and church ministry in April has me very excited. Love, love, love what we are doing!

MINISTRY TEAM IN MONTENEGRO

Pictured in this Update is our ministry team at LIFE Montenegro. Jelena Vilotjevic, Sasa Olah and Danijel Petkovski. Oops! As much as we would like to call him “ours”, I have to tell you that Danijel is serving with Inter Varisty Fellowship in a ministry to students. We partner together with him at Camp Monty as well as with the ministry to both high school and college students at the Niksic Youth Center [NYC]. He is awesome. Well, all of them are. Pray for their followup ministry, weekly Bible studies and outreach. Go team, go!

Stephanie and I thank God for you. You are part of the team to help us reach young people for Christ. Couldn’t do it without your help! Thank you so much.

THE ROMANIAN INVASION HITS MONTENEGRO

The Romanian Invasion? What is this? When I was living near Budapest, Hungary, a group of Romanians would come to my home to hang out for a couple of days for fellowship and Bible teaching. 8 to 10 of them would come … mattresses on the floor … big meals … what a blast! So, I coined the term, “The Romanian Invasion”, as I enjoyed being “invaded” by live wire young Romanians.

So, Iulian and three of his male staff members “invaded” Montenegro last Friday connecting with our team there. Jimmy Compton was on hand to represent the USA. Great time talking, eating and getting to know each other better. The photo above gives a good impression of their fun time. Hopefully, we can get the LIFE Montenegro team to visit our youth camp at LIFE Romania at one of their youth camps. It’s good to know you are part of a bigger team. And, this is where you come in because YOU are part of the team. Yes, you are! Your support and prayers make all of this possible. We could not do this ministry without you being part of the team. Thank you so, so much!

LIFE ROMANIA: I’M SO EXCITED!

Yes, I’m so excited, but, I can’t spill the beans just yet. What, what, what?

Some exciting plans for next summer. Oh, how I wish I could tell you now. Just can’t just yet. More planning needs to be done. In the meantime, please pray for wisdom in planning and for more groups to come from churches in the States.

I’ll get back to you when we have more concrete information. Oh man, I’m so excited! Stay tuned …

LIFE COSTA RICA: THERE IS A NEED

Cris Vidaechea reports that his vehicle died a slow death. We have a problem, Houston, I mean, Costa Rica. To buy a vehicle produced from 2006 to 2010 will cost between $17,000 and $20,000. Can you believe it? That’s expensive. But, that’s Costa Rica with high taxes on imported vehicles. No, they do not manufacture cars there. Will you pray? Will you give?

Meanwhile, we have another need there. We need a group to come from the USA to help with the games and activities at our next youth camp, January 31-February 4, 2017. Want to experience warm sunshine, summer-like weather during the cold winter? Come to Costa Rica! Call me at 321 663 5710 for more information or email me right away.

Costs for room and board as well as in-country transportation from and to the airport plus some sightseeing is $850 per person. Ticket prices to Costa Rica are not very expensive. Are you in?

Thank you for your friendship, your prayers and your financial support. Again, we could not do this outreach to young people around the world without your involvement. Thank you for all that you do! Stephanie and I pray for you and we thank God for you.

YOUNG ADULT CAMP IN ROMANIA

LIFE Romania held a youth camp for young adults last week seeing 15 dedication decisions. You know, God can go great things in the lives of young people in their 20s because they have time, energy and availability. This is exciting news that fifteen responded dedicating their lives to God! Pray that they will move forward with their decision of commitment to take it to the next level.

ANNOUNCING!

In 1990, when we opened a youth camp in Hungary during their first year of freedom from communist rule, an American teenager was on hand as a helper. Over the years he has helped me again and again. What a joy to announce that Jimmy Compton is now the Director of Camp Monty at LIFE Montenegro. Actually, Jimmy has been part of the leadership team while Rick DeYoung was leading Camp Monty. Grateful for all that Rick has done to help us build Camp Monty to its present stage. Pray for Jimmy and Michelle as plans are underway for Camp Monty 2017 next July.

Perhaps you would like to consider supporting the Comptons with your finances. You can do so online at www.lifeimpactforeternity.org or mail your donation to Life Impact for Eternity, 3984 Manatee Avenue East, Bradenton, Florida 34208.

NEEDY CAMPERS IN COSTA RICA

Want to make a difference in a young person’s life? $100 for a camp scholarship will be used to bring in a needy camper to hear the Gospel. This past January in our first ever youth camp at LIFE Costa Rica someone’s donation paid the way for a boy nicknamed Nene [nay-nay] to attend. Small time drug dealer at his school and on his street, school dropout, he heard the Good News at camp receiving Christ. Furthermore, at the camp fire service he dedicated his life to the Lord. Pray for Nene that he will be a strong witness to his family, teens in his school [yes, he returned to school] and on his street. Can’t wait to see Nene next January! Yes, you can make a difference like Nene. Will you?

Thank you for being a part of the team … praying, encouraging, giving, helping. The prayers of a righteous man availeth much according to the Book of James. Thanks for making a difference!

YOUNG ADULTS YOUTH CAMP IN ROMANIA
This week there is a special youth camp in Romania for young adults. In Europe most of the colleges do not start classes until late September or early October, so, September can be a good time for their youth camp. Pray for a great harvest as LIFE Romania Director, Iulian Avramescu, leads this youth camp.

FOLLOW-UP MINISTRY AFTER CAMP MONTY
Pray for Jelena Vilotijevic and Sasa Olah along with our ministry partner, Danijel Petkovski, as they reach out to Camp Monty teens at the Niksic Youth Center. It’s time for follow-up, an important part of the program of Camp Monty during the school year at LIFE Montenegro.

THE GOAL HAS BEEN MET FOR THE MATCHING GIFT CHALLENGE
Rejoice with Iulian at LIFE Romania that the Matching Gift Challenge has been completed. God put in the heart of a donor to challenge Iulian and his team with a $50,000 gift if they could raise an additional $50,000 in 30 days. On the 30th day, the need was met. In fact, they went over the goal, raising $51,475.00. Praise the Lord! This is a great help for this growing youth ministry as four young adults have finished their training at the Word of LIfe Hungary Bible Institute and are now serving full time as part of the team. These funds will help cover their small salaries until support can be found to cover their needs long range. They join a team of four other staff members. As a result we have a dynamo team to serve at the Sports Tournaments [weekend outreach], Winter Camp, small group meetings and follow-up ministry. How exciting!

GEARING UP FOR COSTA RICA
In late January, 2017, Stephanie and I plan to be in Costa Rica for the LIFE Costa Rica youth camp. We need some special gifts to make this camp possible. Young Costa Ricans cannot afford the actual cost of the youth camp. Every $100 helps sponsor a teenager to attend camp. Pray about making a special donation to reach a young Costa Rican for Christ.

WANT TO CONNECT WITH US IN ONE OF OUR YOUTH CAMPS?
In this Update I’ve written about our youth camps in Romania, Montenegro and Costa Rica. We need individuals and groups from churches to come to one of these camps to help us reach young people. Want to be involved? Why not? We are working on our camps for 2017. Why not make the trip of your lifetime by coming to one of these countries and make an impact on the lives of these young people.

OK, the ball in in your court?

You just received an invitation from me.

Your move. Let’s connect!

—The Best Ever!
—Waiting on the Final Totals
—What Are We Doing?

THE BEST EVER!
The best ever what? Our youth camps this summer in Europe, that’s what. People were saying this both in Romania and Montenegro. Both Camp MIA and Camp Monty experienced their “best ever” camp seasons. Isn’t this great?
No, Stephanie and I could not go because of my ankle issues. But, we are thrilled to hear these glowing reports even if we could not go. We are so happy for the Romanians and the Montenegrins. YAY!!
I hope this encourages you as well because you are helping to make all of this possible through your prayers and your financial giving. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

WAITING ON THE FINAL TOTALS
Most of the results are in from Romania and Montenegro as to how many received Jesus Christ this summer. More than 200 in Romania and just under 100 in Montenegro from what I have heard. This fact finding is very important in both countries where Life Impact For Eternity is serving because our teams there are very precise and exact when it comes to follow-up and discipleship. And, this is good. We have the Niksic Youth Center in Montenegro where Jelena and Sasa are serving along with our ministry partner, Danijel Petkovski. This gives us a presence in the city as well as a place where the students can come to meetings or just hang out with our staff.
In Romania, Iulian and his team use postal mail, email, text messages and personal visits. The staff meets often to pray for the new believers and to give reports as to how the new converts are doing. To an extent, these methods are being used in Montenegro as well even though the number of staff members there are fewer in number. Pray for both staffs as they are already at work regarding follow-up. So, so important.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Stephanie and I are committed to a prayer ministry for our staff in each country which includes Costa Rica. Encouraging emails, text messages and Facebook messages are sent. These young teams need much encouragement and exhortation. Normally, I have meetings in churches where I speak to do evangelism or to encourage the believers. My ankle problems have put this on hold for the time being. We will get back into this in the fall. I am contacting churches asking them to consider sending people to serve in the summer camps in 2017 and 2018. Administration work takes time as well. Bible study in Psalms and Proverbs has been a focus during the summer. I write posts or messages on five Facebook sites where we have ministries in Europe and Central America. These messages are for new believers to encourage them what to do in their fledgling relationship with God. The camp counselors and staff members can use these messages to help them know what to say to those whom they are discipling. I have written commentary for these messages on 1 John, Philippians and the Gospel of John going through each book verse by verse. Love this!
More writing is being done as both Stephanie and I are working on books. My book will have 84 articles on Leadership Development and Spiritual Growth. This is now going through the editing and proofing process before it will be sent to the publisher. Stephanie is doing the same with a devotional book that she has written as well as a second book to encourage families with children who have autism. Stephanie has a precious grandson who has autism, so, she has much experience in this area along with her work as a counselor for many years. She is a licensed counselor with a master’s degree in counseling. I am very excited about both of her books both of which are in the editing/proofing stage.
My book covers some of lessons God taught me during Lynne’s suffering and death as well as exciting things that I learned from the Lord in my ministry over the years. The way the book has been written can help young and experienced leaders both in the Christian and secular arenas. Pray for us as the editing work requires diligent effort and time.
Regarding my health, I am losing weight as I made major dietary changes in May. I stopped eating sugar way back in 2000 as well as cutting out Pepsi and Coke in 2003 and artificial sweeteners in 2007. Over the years I was eating healthier, but I took it to a new level this year to lose weight so I would have less stress on my bad ankle. So far, I have lost 24 pounds, but I still have more to take off. The problem with my ankle has prevented me from doing physical exercise with the exception of push ups. God has really helped me. I just wanted you to know so that you can pray with more knowledge. Yes, my lifestyle changes will continue after I lose the weight. Thank you for praying and for caring! Grateful!

CAMP MONTY IS UNDERWAY!
Camp Monty 2016 is being held this week in Montenegro. Rick DeYoung, Jim Compton, Jimmy DeYoung Jr., Andrew Butler, Danijel Petkovski and Sasa Olah are all there along with many others. Great music! Excellent speakers! Andre Butler spoke last night with many decisions. I hope to hear the camp staff say, after camp concludes, that this Camp Monty is the best ever. Thrills my heart! No, I couldn’t go this year, but the team is excelling in my absence. Makes me very happy.

CAMP MIA: WEEK 5
No, I couldn’t go to Camp MIA in Romania this summer, but, this camp is thriving as well under the able leadership of Iulian Avramescu. What a team Iulian has! I am so impressed! Stephanie was telling me this week that she is missing camp and some campers whom she remembers from last summer. She saw some pictures of certain camper girls and counselors on Facebook. So sweet that she wrote on her blog that her heart is in two places at the same time … Camp Mia and here at home with me. Thrills my heart that she truly has a heart for the ministry and young people. Click here to read Stephanie’s blog:stephanieannmurphy.com
Around 200 salvation decisions this summer in Romania so far. Pray for more!
Iulian and LIFE Romania has received a matching gift challenge for their needs. They need to raise $50,000 to match this gift over the next 25 days. Pray for this. If you would like to help please use the address listed at the end of this Update. We are thankful that one of their donors stepped up to issue this challenge … very generous and a great opportunity for LIFE Romania.

REPORT ON MY ANKLE
15 weeks … still wearing a boot of my left foot when I go out, but I stopped using my crutches around two weeks ago. Slow progress. I go back to my Orthopedic Doctor on August 22. Weight loss is one method of treatment as I try to reduce the pressure and stress on my ankle. 23 pounds so far … keep praying for my metabolism to work properly. I have made serious changes in what I eat. I still need to lose 20 more pounds. I am glad to report that my ankle is no longer swollen and the pain has been reduced quite a bit. It is not completely healed, so, your prayers are requested. Thank you so much for praying and for caring.

WRITING
One of my projects during this down time this summer is writing a book to the young adults that I mentor. God has taught me so many wonderful things in the various ministries where I have served. It is a great joy to share these experiences and give the glory and praise to God. See Psalms 40:9-10 where David desired to tell others how God delivered him, not hiding these wonderful things in his heart. God loves praise and He is pleased when we tell others the great things that God has done in our lives. At the present time, Stephanie and I are going through an editing and proofing process to check my work. All of the articles for the book have been written and we have almost 50% of this edited and proofed. Pray for us as we conclude this work in August. More details on this at a later time. Stay tuned.
Thank you for your prayers and your faithful support. We are grateful. God is still at work using us to mentor these young leaders in the various nations where we serve. God bless you!

CAN’T GO TO EUROPE THIS SUMMER
Remember my ankle problems? More than 11 weeks battling pain, swelling, getting treatment from an expert Orthopedic Doctor. Well, it has not improved enough for me to be able to go to Romania to the youth camp this summer. Trusting God with this in the spirit of Romans 8:28. Stephanie is disappointed, but she wants the best for me. She really misses hanging out with the livewire Romanian young people. Me too!
Closely following the doctor’s orders to give my ankle rest, soak it in ice water for seven minutes at a time [not an easy task to do], getting some physical therapy, losing weight to take some of the stress off of the ankle [about 15.5 pounds loss at this point]. God willing, I will visit the doctor again on June 27. He may have to give me a steroid injection on the 27th. He warned me that if my ankle does not improve that he may have to consider ankle replacement surgery or ankle fusion at some point in the future. Neither of these options are appealing to me, so I am giving him my fullest cooperation. Pray that my metabolism will kick in so that I can lose at least 20 more pounds. I struggle with Metabolic Resistance. Serious dietary changes were enacted on May 2and I am working very hard to be faithful in this area. Actually, I had a setback at physical therapy this week as one of the therapists was too strong in his approach. I have had to step back from PT because of swelling and pain that this caused. I will do some of the exercises at a slow, easy pace on my own after this calms down.
Romans 8:28 is foremost in my mind right now as I trust the Lord that He knows what is best. So, we will not go to the youth camps this summer. We had planned to be there for almost eight weeks. Meanwhile, I am writing a book sharing what God has taught me as a leader. The main purpose is to help train, disciple and mentor our young missionaries. A couple of years ago, Iulian, our director in Romania, asked me to consider doing this. It is one thing to speak to the staff in leadership meetings, but it is also important to have something in print that they can refer to again and again. It may be that God will use this in a greater way with anyone who is in leadership whether it be Christian or secular. I have 86 articles written so far as I have been working on this for a few months. Now I have more time to concentrate on this. Pray for me as I seek to find a way to self publish this for the best price.

CAMP MONTY 2016

Rick DeYoung and Jim Compton are making plans for Camp Monty 2016 set for July 25-30. Pray for a great harvest at this special sports camp. We also teach English at this camp. Pray for the speakers and for many campers to come to the meetings. You cannot imagine the excitement among the young people in Niksic, Montenegro when our team comes to town for Camp Monty! It is a very special week!

CAMP MIA 2016 CRANKS UP NEXT WEEK

Iulian Avramesu and his team are gathering together this weekend for Counselor Training with camp opening next Monday, June 27. So exciting even if we cannot go this summer. I am thrilled for them because I know how hard they work and how much they love the youth of Romania. It should be an incredible experience this summer both at Camp MIA and at Camp Monty. Don’t forget to pray for both of these youth camps in Romania and in Montenegro.

LIFE COSTA RICA ANNOUNCES CAMP DATES FOR 2017

As you know the youth camp season in Costa Rica is mainly in Janaury which is their “summer” school break. Why? Because the rainy season starts in March and lasts until late October or so. So, Cris Vidaechea, is announcing the new dates for the next LIFE Costa Rica youth camp … January 31-February 4, 2017. We will have a need to raise funds to pay for the deposit to secure this camp facility about one hour outside of San Jose. Please help if you can.

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Wow! Can you believe it? Stephanie and I have been married for one year as of June 7. Our marriage is growing and both of us are very happy. Certainly, the Lord has restored what the locusts have eaten as mentioned in the Old Testament. We both lost our precious mates to death, but God put Stephanie and me together. It is good that both of us pressed into God trusting Him rather than becoming bitter or resentful. So, we give praise to God. Rejoice with us!
Okay, you have several prayer requests mentioned in this Update and we count on your prayers. Grateful for your friendship and concern. May the Lord richly bless you!

“THE ANKLE BONE’S CONNECTED TO THE LEG BONE”
There is an old spiritual, a fun song, telling that the bones are connected to each other. I’m trying to think of something to get my mind off of my pain. So, this old song came to my mind. Truth is, I’m tired of the pain. Oh me, it’s been a battle for over five weeks. Stephanie has been a wonderful caregiver, yet, this is not easy for her either. She does not like to see me suffer so much pain. Thank you for your prayers.
After visiting a Christian Orthopedic doctor in Jacksonville, Florida, we are encouraged that God directed us to a brilliant man who “really knows his stuff.” Stay tuned as I go through this new treatment to correct what he labeled a “mess” after viewing the MRI. There are four different problems with my ankle right now. It seems like when I do it, I really, really do it, as they say.
He listened to what I did in Romania [jumping up and down during an illustration during a dynamic, active message]. “No ankle turned? Sprained?” “No, I just jumped up and down.” “Wonderful, let’s get you well so you can get back to your young people to minister to them again.” All right! Let’s do it! It seems that I traumatized some old injuries to my ankle, then gout started in my ankle [too many mixed grill plates]. Stephanie checked online to see what I should eat and which food I should not eat because of gout. So far I’ve dropped 12 pounds and the gout is out after treatment. I’ll update you later as to how things are progressing.

WE HAVE A NEED BECAUSE THEY HAVE A NEED
Underprivileged kids in Costa Rica need us. This year Stephanie and I were on hand for the inaugural LIFE Costa Rica youth camp in January. The results were incredible … decisions for Christ. We are making plans for next January which means that we have to put down a deposit to hold a facility for next year’s camp. Thinking that you would like to know about this we need $5000 right away to reserve a week for needy young Costa Ricans. We will need more than this eventually, but, this is the need right now.
Can we count on you to help? Would you partner with us to put smiles on young faces in Costa Rica? These teens simply cannot pay what camp costs. Here is a great opportunity to make an impact and change lives.
Send your contribution to Life Impact For Eternity, 3984 Manatee Avenue East, Bradenton FL 34208 earmarking it for LIFE Costa Rica.
In advance I thank you in behalf of these wonderful young people.

PRAYER REQUESTS
—Pray for my ankle that it will respond to this treatment protocol.
—Pray that I will be well enough so that we will be able to make our next trip to Romania departing June 21
—Pray for Stephanie’s grandson, Gage, to continue to make progress in his battle with Autism. He is high functioning, but he struggles to put together sentences. Sweet, precious 8 year old.
—Pray for a minimum of $5000 to be donated to secure a youth camp facility in Costa Rica. We have to make this payment soon to reserve a week for our camp.

ROMANIANS ARE LIVE WIRES!
Romanian young adults are full of life. So glad they are part of LIFE, Life Impact For Eternity. So much energy as well as a great heart for God. The recent Camp Counselor Training in Sinaia, Romania was very exciting. I spoke to the group three times and Iulian and his staff spoke several times as well. Great response!
Stephanie had a session with the girls and they ate it up. They enjoyed her so much. This makes me very happy as I see Stephanie finding her place in our mission. Of course, she is a big encouragement for me because of her desire to serve the Lord.
SIX SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS MAKE DECISIONS FOR CHRIST
Iulian organized for me to speak in a high school in Arad, Romania which was a long drive across the country after the counselor training. Speaking to 9th and 10th graders I found them to really be plugged in listening to my message. It was exciting.  Iulian is a gifted translator and we form a great team. I spoke on the theme of friendship teaching them to be wise in their choice of friends.
The next day I spoke to the 11th and 12th graders giving an invitation to receive Christ. Six responded to the Gospel. Pray for their follow-up.

ANKLE PROBLEMS AGAIN
My left ankle has problems from time to time. 30 some years ago I strained my Achilles tendon in a youth event. Recently I was battling Plantar Fasciitis in my left foot and was fitted for custom made inserts. So, two problems with the same foot. Then, speaking to the high school students I must have been a bit too ramped up, too active, aggravating my ankle and tore a ligament. So, now I have three problems with my ankle.
Well, I could not go to the Sports Tournament on Friday evening and on Saturday. Stephanie attended taking pictures. Her heart was touched in the outreach on Friday to an orphanage. She told me that they enjoyed the games with much laughter and gobbled up the treats that Iulian and his team had purchased for them to eat. Iulian spoke that evening as well as on Saturday. He is a gifted evangelist and saw 14 come to Christ. Stephanie was thrilled as she watched praying for their response. Meanwhile I was back at the youth camp lying down recuperating as I prayed for the team.
We finished our ministry in Romania and traveled to Rome, Italy for the rest of our schedule. I was hobbling as I could barely walk. Little did I know that I should not have been walking at all. The hotel staff in Rome helped us make contact with a doctor that they have on call. He came to our room to evaluate my condition making arrangements for an X-ray and consultation with an orthopedic specialist. The good news is that there is no fracture and the other news is that I have a ligament tear as I mentioned earlier. Two doctors attended to me wrapping my ankle and put what they called a “cast” over the wrapping. It is a strap on brace or splint, but, it really helps. The hotel helped by securing some forearm crutches. I have never used these before which calls for a steep learning curve. Yet, they help very much. The doctors said I would be much better in two weeks although I usually take longer to heal. Stephanie and I are counting on your prayers. She has been so good to look after me and care for me. She feels so much better that I had quality medical attention. Grateful to God for this help!

TOTAL OF 20 DECISIONS FOR CHRIST PLUS MORE
It was a great harvest in Romania with Iulian Avramescu and two of his key team members, Adrian Dinu and David Neagu. Plus, there was a meeting with youth pastors that we attended. They seem to be very interested in the youth camps as well as the Sports tournaments and discipleship. They responded to Iulian’s request to organize people in their churches to do follow-up with the young converts who come to Camp MIA, our youth camp ministry in Romania.
Then, Iulian met with a key pastor in Timisoara, Romania, while I remained at the youth camp to rest. This pastor put him on the phone with other key leaders to get him connected. This is no small thing as it opens doors for future ministry. Iulian has a passion to reach the young people of his country. Not only to bring them to Christ, but to disciple them so that they can reach others. Worthy goals!
Thank you for your friendship and your love for us. Stephanie and I are grateful. Pray that I will have a good recovery. Wishing God’s best for you! God bless you!
